One of the first things I did after the college admissions scandal broke was think back to any previous correspondence I had with the highest-profile member implicated from USC: men’s and women’s water polo head coach Jovan Vavic.

The USC men’s basketball team could not have asked for a better week.

Instead of an expected easy win against an inferior WCC opponent, the Trojans fell in double overtime, 102-92, for their fourth straight loss.

The men’s basketball team suffered its worst defeat in the Andy Enfield era, falling 96-61 to TCU at the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic at Staples Center on Friday to drop to 5-4 on the season.

Kingsbury is the first high-profile assistant hire since USC announced Clay Helton would remain as head coach.

USC earned its first national title since 2013 by beating Stanford 14-12 in Palo Alto on Sunday. It marks the 10th national championship for the men’s program.

The Wolfpack took advantage of questionable shot selection by USC during this stretch and got hot from the field.

The incident caused a near 20-minute delay on the Expo Line Thursday evening.

The Trojans finished the 2018 season 5-7 – the worst program record since 2000 – and USC finished bowl ineligible for the first time since NCAA bowl restrictions in 2011.

With a losing record in sight and Helton’s job on the table, USC allowed 24 unanswered points to No. 3 Notre Dame in a 24-17 defeat at the Coliseum on Saturday.
