Starting next year, Utah and Colorado will be joining the Pac-10, making it the Pac-12, and will consequently split the conference into : the Pac-12 North and the Pac-12 South.
On top of releasing the 2011 Pac-12 schedule, Scott also revealed the Pac-12’s plan to implement an eight-year rotation model to be used for future scheduling that, according to Scott, “maintains important traditional rivalries, and will create some very exciting matchups in our new 12-team conference.”
The 2011 seaon kicks off Sept. 3, 2011 and conference matchups begin the following week as USC hosts Pac-12 newcomer Utah Sept. 10, 2011. The season will culminate with the first-ever to be played on the home field of the division champion with the best overall conference record.
The 2012 schedule will include the same set of opponents as the 2011 schedule but the games would be played at the home fields opposite of the year before.
Other home games for the Trojans next year include Washington, Stanford, and bitter rival UCLA.
